Detective Senior Constable Elissa Smith, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said the break-in happened between 7am and 3pm on May 8.
She said offenders entered a home and stole an Apple Mac laptop computer, an arc welder and a large tool kit.
"Access was also gained to a garage where the offenders have unsuccessfully attempted to break into a firearms safe," she said.
"Anyone with information, or who saw anything suspicious earlier this month in Woolsthorpe's Leman Road are requested to contact the Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," she said.
