The female was walking along Liebig Street about 2.30pm on Friday, May 18 when she fell and dropped her purse.
Unaware she had left her purse behind, she got up and kept walking.
A short time later a man, believed to be aged between 35 and 40, used the credit card to purchase a packet of cigarettes.
The man is about 173 centimetres tall, was wearing a blue baseball cap, black polo jumper and jeans.
