The game against the Eagles will mark the 150th appearance for Warrnambool’s centre Sarah O’Keeffe.
Warrnambool has a 2-3 win/loss record after five rounds while the Eagles are flying at 4-1.
Despite the gap between the two, O’Keeffe is happy with the way the Blues are progressing.
“We haven’t been playing too bad, we are poking along OK,” O’Keeffe said.
“We gave Cobden a good run for their money in our last game.”
O’Keeffe, 26, began her netball career in the Warrnambool 13 and under team and has stayed at the club ever since.
Family ties have kept her close, with her father Mark a former premiership coach at the club and her siblings Tim and Emma also donning the navy blue. Her partner is star Warrnambool forward Sam Cowling.
It is the connection with family and friends that drives O’Keeffe to keep turning up each week.
“I love the club,” she said.
“I enjoy playing netball and I love the social side of it all, it’s a good place to be a part of.”
O’Keeffe played her junior netball at goal defence and moved to wing defence in the early stages of her senior career. She is now thriving as the Blues’ centre, producing a spectacular start to the season where she has been in the team’s best three players in each game.
