Koroit captain Brett Harrington was one of nine premiership Saints to feature in Hampden’s nine-point interleague win over Bendigo at Reid Oval on Saturday.
“In the rooms when we were warming up it felt like every second bloke was a Koroit player,” he said.
Three-time Bottle Green Harrington joined representative debutants Jarrod Korewha, Levi Nagorcka and Tim McPherson in the Jonathan Brown-led outfit.
Fellow Saints Taylor Mulraney, Jeremy Hausler, Tim McIntyre, Liam Hoy and Dallas Mooney also donned the green and white.
Harrington was pleased with how his Saints teammates performed.
“You could say all the guys did their part when they had to,” he said.
“I thought ‘Grub’ (Mulraney) was really good in the middle. He was really hard at it.
“’Gator’ (McPherson) down back was really good, nothing got through him, and Jezza was really strong in the ruck.”
Harrington, who has starred on Reid Oval on grand final day, received high praise from Brown for his role in defence.
He said was just happy to play his part in a scrappy, hard fought win.
“I really enjoying playing and I encourage any player who gets the opportunity to really try and play,” Harrington said of representative football.
“It’s good fun and you have a beer with everyone and meet new guys and see how everyone goes about it as well.”
