Paul Fimmel and Andrew Taylor will umpire their first senior interleague match from the goal square, while 18-year-old field umpire Damon Harrison, 16-year-old boundary umpire Archi Perriss and goal umpire Wayne Bellman will debut in the under 18 match.
Jamie Lake, Nick Ross-Watson and James Rea will join Fimmell and Taylor in the senior match, while Andrew Lougheed (field), Damian O’Connor (boundary), and Gerald Auld (goal) will umpire in the under 18s. Gavin Sell, Nathan Hoy, Harry and Lachi Rooke have also secured roles in North Geelong, Buningyong and Colac.
WDFUA coach Dedy Friebe said it was a huge honour for the association’s umpires.
“It’s not only a career highlight for them, but a real acknowledgement of the capabilities and reputation of the Warrnambool umpires to be given this opportunity,” he told The Standard.
