Barr, who is working closely as an assistant coach under Bombers mentor Nadine McNamara, returned to the south-west after a stint with Geelong Football Netball League club Newtown and Chilwell and living overseas in London.
The Bombers mid-courter said it was nice to be back home, but said the adjustment to life back in the south-west had been tough.
“It was a really big transition coming from Geelong, then overseas and then back home,” she said.
“But I think having the Saturday netball has helped as it’s something I grew up with and something that is really close to my heart.
“I’ve quite liked the Saturday trips in the car – it reminds me of being 15 again which is quite nice.”
The 27-year-old, whose partner Paul Hinkley also plays with the Bombers, mentioned it was great to be back and among fresh and familiar faces.
“Being back in the league and seeing some familiar faces every week has been something I have really loved,” she said.
“Even playing against Koroit last weekend I was playing against a good friend Emily-Rose Finnegan and this week I'll get to play against another friend in Amy Wormald. So it's been really nice to see the people I grew up playing netball against.”
Barr and Wormald, who captains Warrnambool, will face off this Saturday at Cobden Recreation Reserve with the Bombers looking to secure their fourth win in a row, while the Blues are eager to register their third win of the season.
