Adam Barry, 33, of no fixed address, appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday where he was remanded in custody until May 14.
Magistrate Peter Mellas noted that Mr Barry was not making an application for bail.
Mr Barry is on the methadone program and taking prescription medication.
He has been charged with theft from shops, theft of bikes and bail offences.
Thursday: A MAN in his 30s has been remanded in custody after being charged with thefts from shops, bike thefts and bail offences.
A Portland police spokesman said the man was remanded in custody overnight Wednesday after he made admissions to his offending.
It will be alleged the accused man was selling items on Facebook that didn't belong to him.
He will appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday for a bail/remand hearing.
