The Bombers will chase their first win of the Hampden league season on Saturday when they face fellow 0-2 outfit Terang Mortlake.
The Levi Dare-coached side has led at half-time in its opening matches – up nine points against Port Fairy in round one and seven points clear against South Warrnambool in round two.
“We don’t want to be starting at the back of the field,” Dare said.
“I thought we had two winnable games and we have won the first half both weeks and then let the other side get momentum.
“We’ve got to work out something when sides get a roll on.”
Dare, who is battling a hamstring complaint, said Cobden had a difficult first month, drawing four finals contenders.
But he said the Bombers relished the challenge.
“We need to be at our best and bounce back (against the Bloods),” Dare said.
“We have Koroit after that which is a big game. It’s a tough month for us first up with four sides picked for finals.”
