RSL Support Services Co-ordinator Deidre Bidmade said the aim was to offer veterans and their families a chance to get together to support each other and share their journeys.
She said there were a number of activities in the pipeline, including the veteran’s support group, coffee catch up and playgroup and fitness classes to name a few.
Welfare advocate Fred Chatfield said the support group and activities helped veterans and was a chance to thank them for their service. “It’s a way to thank them for what they’ve done on behalf of everyone in Australia,” Mr Chatfield said.
Anyone interested in being involved is asked to contact the RSL on 5562 4634.
