Gowland’s Demons claimed their latest victim on Saturday, stunning South Rovers by 26 goals to move into second place.
Gowland, a third-year coach, said her troops were beginning to jell and were hopeful of building on last season’s preliminary final appearance.
“I think our speed was the difference. I know we have the capability to be fast,” she said.
“Against Kolora-Noorat, I don’t think we had the chance to show that through errors and the weather. We were able to get that side of our game going a bit against Rovers.
“I don’t think their defenders were able to keep up after that and really opened up the game for us.”
Gowland said her side was jelling well across the court.
“I’ve certainly got players in certain positions through the midcourt but we’ve got the ability to change things up if we need,” she said.
“I’m really happy with the dynamics in the side. Laura (Rosolin) and Hayley (Plozza) have been together for a year now.”
