Man in 40s flown to Melbourne hospital after low loader accident

A WORKER in his 40s was flown to a Melbourne hospital from Hamilton after an industrial accident on Wednesday.

Hamilton police Sergeant Rex Habel said the man was crushed ​by the ​ramp on a low loader which pinned​ one of his legs​.

​State Emergency Service volunteers freed the man after the accident happened just before 11am at a Coleraine Road​ industrial ​site.

His condition was stablised by ambulance officers, he was taken by road ambulance to Meville Oval and then flown by the HEMS4 helicopter to a Melbourne hospital.

He was in a serious condition due ​to ​blood loss ​and injuries to his leg.
