All funds raised from the Warrnambool and District Angling Club Easter competition will go towards South West Healthcare's campaign to purchase a prostate cancer detector.
Angling club president Robert O’Neill said the competition, which ran on Saturday and Sunday, attracted over 130 entries.
"We usually make around $1000 from the competition so we are expecting about that amount again," Mr O'Neill said. "We think the prostate cancer detector is a very worthy cause."
The heaviest fish of the competition was hauled in by Graeme Whittaker. The winning fish was a bream which weighed in at 1.344kg.
The winning bream was caught at the Lake Gillear drain.
Runner-up was Lachlan Peters with a bream weighing in at 1.297 kgs. The heaviest fish in the junior section was a 1.050 bream caught by Nikiah Thomas while the ladies section was won by Karen Thomas with a 794 gram bream.
