Stumpy Carlin caught the exchange between koala and firefighters on his phone and posted it to Facebook.
From within the firetruck, a firefighter can be seen giving the koala a drink of water in an area where trees are strewn across the road.

The Terang fire has now been contained, although livestock fatalities are expected to top 10,000.
