A MAN in his 40s will appear in Warrnambool court on Thursday after terrorising an elderly woman who came to his assistance.

Warrnambool police said the man was heavily intoxicated when and incident unfolded about 9pm on Wednesday night.
He was walking down Raglan Parade when he fell and the elderly woman offered to assist.
He threatened to kill the woman, swore at her and she retreated back into her home.
The man then kicked a gate off its hinges and tried to kick in the front door, causing damage to the door.
Police were called and the man was arrested, charged and held in custody to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday for a bail/remand hearing.
The man has been charged with nine offences including an attempted aggravated burglary.
