WARRNAMBOOL export Nathan Sobey is one step closer to an NBL grand final series after sinking 15 points in Adelaide 36ers’ 35-point belting of Perth Wildcats on Saturday night.

The 36ers became the first team to score triple figures against the reigning champions this season, winning game one of their semi-final series 109-74.

Sobey drained three triples in quick succession in the final term sending the 7000-strong Titanium Arena crowd into raptures.

Game two is on Friday night in Perth.
