The former North Warrnambool premiership coach highlighted to members of the Power’s committee and playing group of what she wants from the club in 2018.
“I would like more unity amongst the senior players, particularly the A-graders,” she said.
“I want to get everyone on the same page about where we want to go and what we want to achieve as a club.
“I’d like to see us growing, learning and improving each other's weaknesses together.
“I know it’s hard for some of the girls to get to training, but also getting all the girls together so that we can build from the start to be finishing strong together at the end of the year would be ideal.”
Roth would like to see the Power back up the top of the ladder and pushing deeper into finals, after they finished third and were knocked out in straight sets.
“I think going on discussions with a few of the players and the executives, I think what let them down last season was their preseason training,” she said.
“The senior girls teams made finals and it seemed like they sort of just faded out.”
Roth highlighted the Power’s fitness as one area of improvement, but also said that a return to basics would hold them in good stead.
“We need to go back to the fundamentals again, right down from the under 13s all the way through to the senior ranks,” she said.
“It's not about me changing people's skills in netball, it’s tweaking little things, so that will be my challenge this season.”
Roth is thrilled about signing on for a big 2018 season.
“I'm really excited about coming to a new club, with new families and new players,” she said.
“I’ve been down a few times now and I’m impressed with the girls that I have met and I have a good vibe about the club.”
