The Jungle Giants arrive in town at the top of their game following the success of their third album, Quiet Ferocity, which reached number 11 on the Australian charts last year.
“We are really looking forward to playing in Warrnambool, we know we have a lot of fans here so it’s good we can come to them,” Hales said.
“It will be a really good vibe, we don’t get a lot of chances to go play regional areas but it is always great fun when we do.”
Hales said Quiet Ferocity has been a huge step forward.
“With this album, we have found a sound that we are happy with,” he said.
The Warrnambool gig is the start of a big few days for The Jungle Giants with Triple J’s Hottest 100 happening two days later. The band’s song She’s A Riot was number 83 in the countdown in 2013 and many are predicting as many as three of their tunes could make the list this year.
“We’ve tried not to think about it too much,” Hales said.
“We were very excited when She’s A Riot got in so it would be great to get in again, but we’ll have to wait and see.”
