The Ballarat-based trainer, who formerly trained at Crossley, said Danigree had thrived since his last-start win at Horsham.
“I’m happy with how he’s going,” Freedman said.
“He’s won two of his last three and ran third at the other start.
“I thought his last start win at Horsham was full of merit.
“I’m sure he’ll appreciate the long straight.
“It’s only a small field with only the five runners but that’s when they can develop into tricky races.
“Jockey Jarrod Fry has a good understanding of Danigree. He’s ridden Danigree in his three runs in this campaign which is a big bonus especially in a small field.”
The track has been rated a slow five. Meanwhile, Warrnambool trainer Symon Wilde will run his tough stayer Straight Jacket in the $120,000 Byron Moore handicap. Straight Jacket, a last-start Moonee Valley winner, was scratched from the Woodford Cup on Sunday to run in the Flemington race.
