With Joel Moloney bound for Hampden league outfit Terang Mortlake, the Power is working to retain the bulk of its premiership-winning list.

Finn said “a couple” of players were undecided on their future, but revealed the club had signed Mick Marshall (Fitzroy) and former South Warrnambool prospect Corey McDonald.

“Mick has come back to the area from Melbourne and is a local. He’s been completing university studies,” Finn said.

“Corey has been up in Darwin for a few years and has come back which is fantastic.”

The premiership coach told The Standard his side completed a three-week pre-season training block and would resume after the festive period.

“We’ve focused on tweaking a few things, and we’ve been essentially introducing, exploring, and examining some individual areas (of our game),” he said.

“We introduced a few new themes and ideas to the guys and some of the younger guys have really been driving that.

“It’s been good to throw some ideas around.”

Despite topping the ladder for a large chunk of last season, Kolora-Noorat handed senior opportunities to several under 17.5 prospects.

Finn said younger players had again staked their claim for senior action next season.

“I guess it’s a bit of a work in progress, knowing who we’ll retain and lose,” he said.

“There’s still a few guys undecided but to lose a Joel Moloney leaves a big hole in your midfield and we’ll want to try to fill that as soon as we can.

“Young guys are putting their hand up to play senior footy and our greatest improvement will come from within.

“We’re happy to give them every opportunity to flourish.”
