Money raised from today’s advertising is being donated to Warrnambool’s Rotary House.
Chairman Andrew Suggett said Rotary House was a facility built in 2014 by the four Rotary clubs in Warrnambool.
“The house provides emergency accommodation for patients and families from out of the district who are using the Warrnambool Base Hospital, St John of God Hospital and Lyndoch Living,” he said.
It has been in high demand since it opened.
“Ever since the cancer care centre started we are accommodating many people who are having treatment,” Mr Suggett said.
Over the years The Standard has championed events and initiatives, including backing the campaign for a cancer care centre in Warrnambool, the need for a rescue chopper and the survival of jumps racing in Victoria.
Our current campaign is in support of The Lookout, to build a 20-bed residential rehabilitation centre in Warrnambool.
The Standard is a major supporter of the south-west community, sponsoring events and organisations.
This year alone we have supported the community to the tune of $115,974, sponsoring 20 events or groups.
The Standard is also the naming rights sponsor of Warrnambool City Council’s annual Fun4Kids Festival.
Today we are working remotely away from our Warrnambool office, delivering content from cafes, streets and homes within their communities.
