Port Fairy’s Leah Martin-Scott is organising the local gathering of Light The Night, which is being co-ordinated nation-wide by the Leukaemia Foundation.
Ms Martin-Scott is encouraging people to come along and be involved.
“Lantern collection will be at the Fiddler’s Green from 7.30pm on Friday,” she said.
“We will then walk around the block. We will go down Bank Street, then onto Gipps, Cox and Sackville and end up back on Fiddler’s Green.”
Ms Martin-Scott has lived in Port Fairy for a year and was keen to become involved in the community.
She said the Light The Night event was close to her heart, having lost an uncle and aunt to blood cancer.
