About 15 people attended Wednesday’s workshop with about 20 bags made.
Boomerang Bags is a grassroots movement where people from all walks of life use recycled materials to make a sustainable alternative to plastic bags.
Organiser Janet Zijm said two women had driven from Cobden to participate and another workshop was planned. She said local businesses had been generous with their support of fabrics and materials.
RECYCLE: Janet Ziejm and Kate McInnes want people to get behind the initiative.
