Campaign against Q Fever ramps up

Push for vaccinations.

Push for vaccinations.

The Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) is lobbying the state government for more funding to subsidise Q Fever vaccination clinics across the state.

The VFF said a lack of understanding about Q fever cost the livestock industry 1700 weeks in worker productivity each year and millions of dollars across the supply chain.

The federation is this spring conducting an awareness campaign to encourage people working in the livestock supply chain to get vaccinated against the animal-borne disease.
