Kolora-Noorat president Matt Clarke said more than 200 residents regularly fronted the Power’s Noorat clubrooms each Thursday night.
He said the club acted as a hub for the community.
“To do 250 meals on a Thursday night is very much just a normal thing,” Clarke said.
“There’s elderly people in the community who come out here on a Thursday night, buy their raffle tickets and wait for the teams to be read.
“They mightn’t make it out here on a Saturday to watch the game, because it might be too cold, but for some of the other guys it’s a good chance to catch up and have a few beers.
“I heard it described as the glue that keeps the social fabric of the club together. It’s been great for us.”
Kolora-Noorat has three football sides and one netball team in grand finals at Reid Oval on Saturday.
