He has a prior court appearance for assault.
Police said that about midnight on December 31, the victim, a hospital social worker of Indian descendant, and his fiancé were walking home along the Princes Highway at Port Fairy when Klobe approached them.
He was aggressive, verbally abused the victim and then push him over a waist-high fence into a garden.
Klobe punched the man who fell to ground and then dropped his foot in a stomping motion onto the victim's head.
He then punched the victim who was face down six or seven times to the back of the head. Two witnesses intervened and the victim's fiancé was extremely upset.
The victim suffered lacerations to his head and neck, swelling and bruising.
When interviewed by police officers, Klobe said he had trouble recalling what happened because he was intoxicated. "If you ask me he should have got more," he told police.

He said Klobe denied kicking or stomping the victim.
