Warrnambool Highway Patrol members routinely pulled over the man in the Kia wagon on Cobden’s Parrott Street just after 10pm.
The 53-year-old male provided a positive preliminary breath test. He was taken to a police station where he returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.226% – more than four times the legal limit.
His vehicle was impounded for 30 days and he was stripped of his licence immediately.
He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and other drink driving related offences.
