Pressure surrounding the looming finals series isn’t fazing Kolora-Noorat

PERCEIVED pressure surrounding the looming finals series isn’t fazing Kolora-Noorat mentor Faye Clarke.

Clarke is keeping her side’s approach basic in the lead up to a qualifying final against Dennington next Saturday.

The Power closed their home-and-away campaign in strong fashion on Saturday, pumping Allansford 53-18 at home.

“We went in a bit unsure of what to expect. It was nice to come away leading into finals,” Clarke said.

“We’ll take it as another game and won’t get too wrapped up in the pressure of it all.”

Clarke said her side tackled the Allansford game in a relaxed mindset.

“We knew it wouldn’t affect our ladder positioning, so we tried to enjoy the game,” she said.

“We thought we’d enjoy it because we have to knuckle down for finals.”

Elsewhere, Merrivale ran held off an improving Russells Creek to win by six goals.

Nirranda also sewed up top spot with a 41-goal thrashing of East Warrnambool. Kolora-Noorat’s qualifying final against Dennington will be at Merrivale.
