Timboon Ice Creamery owner Tim Marwood said the last time it was stolen it was later found propped up on the back of someone’s ute to look like a Mr Whippy van.
“The local postie found it while doing his rounds,” Mr Marwood said.
He said in that incident in March, the ice cream was returned the next day and driven back to the store in the back of a police car.
Mr Marwood said the last theft was a joke someone had played on someone else, and he saw the funny side of it.
After the last theft, the ice cream was bolted to the ground so whoever stole it this time would have damaged it while trying to remove it.
Mr Marwood said he was just hoping the ice cream was returned again like last time with minimal damage.
He said he had spent up to 30 hours building the fibreglass ice cream from scratch using wire, rope and a weather balloon.
Mr Marwood said he built the cone to help visitors to the store, which opened in January, find the driveway.
