A CAMPERDOWN man with a long record of offending has been ordered to do 100 hours of community work after harassing a female service station attendant.

Justin Rotherham, 34, of Manifold Street, pleaded guilty in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court to unlawful assault and offensive behaviour.
He was convicted, fined $400 and placed on a 12-month community corrections order with conditions he do 100 hours of community work and assessment, treatment and programs as requested.
Magistrate Cynthia Toose said Rotherham’s conduct was clearly unacceptable and people should not have to put up with his nonsense.
When told Rotherham now had a full-time job and was not keen to take time off to do community work, the magistrate gave him the option of jail time or community work.
He agreed to do the community work.
Police said the victim worked at the Camperdown BP service station and at 5pm on February 2 Rotherham entered the store and started yelling and abusing the woman.
The woman was terrified and thought she was going to be assaulted and Rotherham abused her a second time before police were called.
Security camera footage captured the incident and when interviewed by police officers Rotherham was not remorseful, in fact belligerent and made derogatory comments about the woman.
Defence counsel Adam Bellman said his client was colourful, but obnoxious and that Rotherham and the attendant had a verbal dispute previously.
He said Rotherham had been over the top but was now working full-time on a dairy farm.
