Nixon said the injury was a “complete accident” that occurred after he dived for the ball and another player landed on him at the wrong angle.
“I must admit, I’ve broken an ankle and had a knee reconstruction and concussions, but I’ve never been in the pain I was in on Saturday,” he said.
Nixon was invited to speak and play for Dennington Football Netball Club on Saturday for an event, and last week he told The Standard he had learnt from his past mistakes.
In 2013, Nixon pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex fiance and in 2011 it was alleged he had an inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl.
The former AFL player agent said it was “not the most pleasant Saturday afternoon”. He still delivered a speech in the evening at the club rooms.
Nixon said a couple of “doubters” who didn’t want him appearing at the event attended, however, he said the event went well and he was planning to come back again next year.
