Perry was trumped by Chirnside Park golfer David Walker, who took out last weekend’s Westcoast Open Amateur.
The 17-year-old finished with a net score of 213.
Port Fairy native Joanna Flaherty also finished respectably in fifth place of the women’s standings behind Kilmore’s Jessica Pickwick.
She shot a net score of 243 after round four was abandoned due to inclement weather.
Golf Victoria events manager Michelle Hui deemed the first-year event a success but lamented the tough conditions.
“The hail came in on Sunday and delayed play, and that was one of the factors which influenced our decision to call off round four,” she said.
“Daylight was also going to be an issue and there was a forecast for severe thunderstorms. “It was a tough decision to call it off, but player safety is paramount for us.” The winners are likely to qualify for the 2018 Vic Open at Barwon Heads.
