The Kangaroos produced a sterling second half, highlight by a nine-goal final term, to down Terang Mortlake 17.9 (111) to 13.7 (85) at Terang Recreation Reserve.
“It’s a bit of a reward, because we’ve been playing some pretty good footy; we just haven’t been doing enough to finish off and get the four points,” Dunn said.
“It’s nice to get the monkey off the back.
“Our second quarter let us down. With the breeze, we didn’t utilise it, so the third quarter was a good one for us into the breeze, we got control of the game.”
The Bloods led by 12 points at the first break and nine at the second, but the Kangaroos whittled their lead down to just three going into the final quarter, before bursting away. Josh Pepper kicked six goals, while Tom Feely won plenty of the ball in a best-on-ground effort.
