On September 7-8, students doing courses including nursing and midwifery, marine biology, law, commerce and arts will put on a stage production of The Litttle Mermaid.
Residential leader and the play’s director, nursing student Olivia Fall, said students saw a gap in Warrnambool for this kind of activity.
“We hope to make the show interactive to involve the audience,” Ms Fall said.
“We’re doing our own spin on it to make the show unique to us.”
As well as the cast, a team of back stage helpers will also be involved in bringing the production to life.
Students at Deakin did a production of Chicago last year but this performance was open only to students.
“We are more organised this year so it will be good to have the public come along,” Ms Fall said. “Rehearsals have been great so far. The cast includes people who have done shows before but for some it is their first time.”
