His charges will be looking for more of what they produced in the second half at home against Warrnambool on Saturday night and less of what they saw in the first half.
The Blues held sway by a point at the main break, despite having six more shots at goal.
But the Bombers ramped things up a couple of gears in the second half, booting 9.7 to 3.6 to run away with a 16.9 (105) to 9.15 (69) win.
“I think it was just work rate (that improved),” Dare said. “I put it to the boys that we weren’t working hard enough and we really lifted in the second half.”
The Bombers were without Lincoln Dare (corkie) after quarter-time, but Dom Dare slotted in well to the centre half-forward role.
Nick Harding continued his rapid rise, kicking seven goals in another best-on-ground performance.
