Mr Daffy, of Cobden, said the most important thing to him was to ensure the $2500 he was given by local car dealerships went back to his community.
Half of the funds will go to Cobden Men’s Shed and the other half to the family of Warrnambool baby Charlotte Miller, who was born with congenital heart disease.
“I thought, ‘well I have kids and they’re all fit and healthy, I may as well give something to someone that really needs it’,” Mr Daffy said.
Sally Schintler, Charlotte’s aunty, said the funds would help support the family, who have been living in Melbourne since the baby’s birth in November.
Ms Schintler said Charlotte’s parents, Emma and Ben, were “over the moon” about receiving support from Mr Daffy.
Graeme Fagan from the Cobden Men’s Shed said the funds meant a lot, and would be used for new equipment.
