Broadly speaking, Saturday was a day for the association’s bowlers to shine.
For Dennington, Steve Wythe snared five wickets against Allansford. He was joined by all-rounder Pete Shepherd, who claimed four.
It followed Ben Boyd’s eight-wicket haul just one week prior in the same match.
In Port Fairy’s outright victory over Brierly-Christ Church, Jordan Graham snared 10 wickets across two innings. Sam McCartney shared the spoils with seven.
Jimmy Elford also scored another five-wicket haul, while Englishman Sam Carver snared 4-15 to gift Nestles a chance over Woodford.
With the bat, it was a similar story.
Two cricketers – East Warrnambool’s Mark Murphy (107 not out) and West Warrnambool’s Ben Threlfall (105) – belted their first centuries of the season en route to wins for their respective clubs.
