Despite just one point separating the teams on the Western District Bowls Division ladder, Stonehouse said Terang had struggled to knock off Mortlake in recent seasons regardless of form.
“Their green seems to be a bit slower than ours and we’ve had to adjust, but that is something we just haven’t been able to do this year,” he said. “It’s going to be tough. We’ve just struggled to beat them over the last two years.
“We played them earlier in the year at home and we only beat them by three or four shots. It will be a hard game, considering we got a bit lucky last time.”
Stonehouse admitted his team had under-performed in 2016-17 despite several new faces at the club.
“We just haven’t been able to do it this year. We’ve racked our brains but we haven’t been able to come up with a solution,” he said.
