A comfortable victory to Kaye Maddern’s rink gifted Gold an 11-point buffer over Terang, but a thumping 16-shot victory to Carol Cardwell ensured Green ran away with the triumph.
City Memorial Gold skipper Pauline Burleigh said the defeat was a disappointing result.
“We just had a bad day at the office,” she said.
“We’ll try to beat the other City Memorial side, Green, next week. That will be an interesting game.
“Barbara Bibby also has a good win in a really tight game. She got up by three shots in the end.”
Elsewhere, Warrnambool Gold downed City Memorial Green.
Mortlake Blue also had a thrilling one-shot triumph over Timboon Maroon, while the mid-card Port Fairy knocked off second-placed Koroit Orange.
