The Koroit Sheepdog Trials will be held at Victoria Park from January 31 to February 4.
Koroit Sheepdog Trials founder and organsier Barry Paton is expecting another big year for the event.
“We have workers coming from every state,” Mr Paton said.
“This is our sixth year and in that time we have been able to get established as a really good trial. Among the 58 workers that are coming to Koroit are some of the best in Australia.”
The workers will be guiding more than 200 dogs in novice and open competitions. Both the number of workers and dogs are up on last year’s entries.
Mr Paton said it wasn’t only the competition that people loved.
“We get such good feedback from the people that come to the trials,” Mr Paton said.
“They just love Koroit. They love going down the street for a coffee and the Lions club op shop was really popular last year. They like the fact that everything in Koroit is within walking distance.”
