The Kings College student had 32cm of her long thick platted hair lopped off in the hope others could enjoy it.
Elise chose to part with her hair for charity ‘Locks of Love’ so her contribution could be made into a wig for young people suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
She was inspired by a friend who underwent a similar transformation last year.
Long or short hair was no different to her but she hoped the chop would make a difference to someone else.
“I wanted someone else to have the privilege of having hair,” she said.
Owner of Chevron Hair and family friend Shannon McNeil said Elise was amazing and didn’t even flinch.
“I think I was more nervous than what she was,” she said.
Elise said she had been thinking about it for quite some time and had no regrets.
“I feel like I’ve done something good,” she said.
