Captain Nathan Sobey, now preparing for the NBL season with Adelaide 36ers, received the award after a standout season for the drought-breaking championship-winning roster.
Sobey averaged a competition-best 32 points a game – almost four better than Sunbury’s Ishmael Sanders.
He also led the 15-team division one season for assists with 5.5 a game and three-points made with 100.
Sobey was named MVP in the Seahawks’ grand final series clean-sweep over Casey Cavaliers last month.
The athletic point guard sunk a combined 82 points across the two games to help the Seahawks to their first men’s title in 18 years. He returned to Warrnambool to help his childhood club end its drought and build his form and fitness base ahead of the 2016-17 NBL season.
