A gala opening on Friday from 7pm will kick off the 24th annual City Of Warrnambool Art Show at Warrnambool Primary School’s performing arts centre.
About 400 pieces from more than 100 artists will be vying for the $2000 top prize.
Opening night will also feature a performance by the Warrnambool City Jazz Band.
Across the weekend, more than $7000 worth of prizes will be awarded by a special guest judge from the Twenty Melbourne Painters Society.
Proceeds from the City Of Warrnambool Art Show will this year be donated to the Standing Tall program, which aims to help students who are at risk of disengaging from education.
The show will be open on Saturday from 10am to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm.
It will also open on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
The art show is a joint project of Warrnambool City Council, the Rotary Club of Warrnambool East, and the Warrnambool and District Artists’ Society.
