Assisting in “the fight for truth, justice and a cure for muscular dystrophy” more than 300 students raised $800 for Chris’ much-needed BiPAP sleep machine.
Gold coin donations, a sausage sizzle and dress-ups all played a part in the school’s Superhero Day activities.
Chris and his brother Aaron have Muscular Dystrophy.
The genetic condition is marked by a progressive weakening and wasting of the muscles.
The Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) sleep machine will help Chris’ breathing while he sleeps.
“The fundraiser is not just about the machine,” Chris said.
“It’s really about raising awareness about the disease.”
Chris has recently returned home after a month-long stay in hospital.
