Club president Karla Jeffcott said after last Sunday's downpour the track was very soft.
"Riders are leaving significant tread marks on the straights. They should not be on it and they're putting themselves in danger," she said.
"It will take two or three days work to get the track back up to scratch."
Jephcott said there were signs in place warning members of the public to stay off the track in wet conditions.
She said the hotmix corners were OK but the straights, particularly the second straight, had been left badly chopped up.
"After that big downpour riders have continued using the track. We just want to ask a big please not to and ask users to be considerate," she said.
"We just want people to stay off it while it's so wet. At present we can't touch the track, it's just too soft to repair and there's quite a bit of damage. We'll have to wait for it to dry out a bit before we can get the roller onto it."
The club president said restricting access was not possible as the track was open to the public and not securely fenced.
"It's an annual problem and it's been pretty wet this year. The surrounds are waterlogged," Jephcott said.
"We can't put a chain across the track - that's a safety issue, but having the ability to close the track would be wonderful. Many tracks across the track close when it's this wet. That's something we'll discuss further with the Warrnambool City Council."
Jephcott said the annual resurfacing of the track cost between $2500 and $3000.
"We've got great volunteers, a really good club and we get the job done when it's needed," she said.
"Our gates training on Thursday night has been called off and our club event at the weekend could be as well depending on the weather.
"We had been riding on the track a fortnight ago and it's held up well but it's now just too wet," she said.
