The state’s $6-million subsidy scheme hopes to reduce the number of fatalities and serious injuries caused by rollovers on-farm.
Farmers operating a business in Victoria with no more than 19 full-time employees, who own a quad bike for work purposes and use farming as their main source of income will be eligible to apply.
Claims up to $1,200 can be lodged from October and for two years following.
State Agriculture Minister Jaala Pulford said the rebate would save lives and prevent tragic incidents from happening on Victorian farms.
"The safety of employees must always come first,” she said. “For farmers, their employees are often their loved ones, so safety must always be the number one priority."
The rebate follows a report by WorkSafe Victoria that highlighted the loss of five south-west farmers to quad bike accidents with 22 farmers killed across Australia in 2015 alone.
