A NEW administration and employee amenities facility is the first of an exciting list of developments at Southern Ocean Mariculture in Port Fairy.
Small Business Minister Philip Dalidakis opened the new administration and amenities facility on Wednesday.
The facility came at a cost of $750,000. It will be used by the 15 employees at the site with that number set to grow.
Southern Ocean Mariculture general manager Mark Gervis said two to four more employees will be added to the staff when the building of 96 more tanks at the site is complete.
That will increase the abalone production at the site from 75 tonne annually to 110. The estimated cost of this expansion is up to $1.8 million.
