The StandBy Response Service is a community-based program that provides a local response to communities that have been affected by suicide.
The free workshops begin on August 2 at the City Bowls Memorial Club from 10am-11am.
Guest speakers Jean-Claude Boulenaz and Denis Carmody will provide resources, training and information aimed at reducing the potential adverse health outcomes for people affected by suicide.
The program seeks to build on existing community strengths and harness the willingness and expertise of local communities to provide and guide local support.
Lifeline South West Vic representative Bess Slater wants the whole community to get involved.
“We’re encouraging community members to attend the upcoming information session, to find out what the StandBy Critical Postvention Response program involves and to help plan the next steps for supporting people bereaved by suicide and creating a suicide-safer community.”
