Detective Senior Constable Sally Frazer, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said there were two break-ins in Port Fairy and one on the Toolong Road in the past few weeks.
"There have been two residential burglaries, one at a holiday house in Sackville Street which involved the home being ransacked, mud traipsed through the dwelling but nothing was taken after offenders forced open a rear door," she said.
"Entry to a home in Albert Street was gained through a sliding back window. Once again nothing was taken."
Detective Senior Constable Fraser said a property at the Port Fairy end of Toolong Road was burgled in late June or early July.
"A range of power tools, a chainsaw, spray guns and welding equipment was stolen valued at a total of $3500," she said.
"A 1978 Holden HZ ute in very good condition, which was not operating because it didn't have a battery, was stolen after it is believed it was loaded onto a tray truck."
The detective requested that anyone with information about any of the burglaries contact the Warrnambool police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
There was also a break-in at a Banyan Street home in Warrnambool between July 10 and 12.
Offenders forced open an unlocked window and stole a large LG television valued at $800 and DVDs worth about $500.
