“I’ve got a big smile on my dial,” Mr Campbell said.
At the time of publication, 78 per cent of the vote had been counted, showing the Greens with 8.06 per cent of the primary vote.
“I’m always pleasantly surprised when the vote goes up,” Mr Campbell said. He said great support from his branch and volunteers and his previous campaigning experience had helped him.
“I hope that it represents we’re no longer just listening to political slogans and treating them as gospel truth,” Mr Campbell said.
Mr Campbell, who stood for the state election in 2014 and the state byelection in 2015, said he would consider running for Wannon again.
