South-west Victoria was drenched last month, making it the wettest May for some towns in years.
Warrnambool received 140.4mm last month, more than the 67.2mm average, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Portland was the region’s wettest place with 144.4mm, more than 64 mm above the May average of 80mm.
The story was much the same in Hamilton where rainfall levels were 103 mm, twice as much as the average of 50.3mm.
Port Fairy was spared the worst of the downpour recording 83 mm, just 20mm above its May average. The rain was welcome after an extended dry period.
